The following is a post that Artie Davis wrote recently that I just had to share with you. Artie is the Lead Pastor of Cornerstone Community Church, founder of the CombNetwork.com and Executive Director of TheSticks.tv.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
How many times have we read that verse or quoted that verse? MANY! Too often, though, we read that and dismiss that little word in there.
So, without the word “every,” we only dismiss the big thoughts, if we apply the verse at all. The problem? Without the word “every,” we let that mini thought stand.
You know the “mini” thought. The one that is just quick and feel harmless. The problem with the mini thought is that it fuels MAJOR actions if it’s aloud to live in our minds.
MAJOR actions become MAJOR thoughts
MAJOR thoughts become MAJOR destruction.
