The following is a post that Jeremie Kubicek recently wrote that I think you have got to read! Jeremie is the author of Making Your Leadership Come Alive: 7 Actions to Increase Your Influence. He is also the CEO of GiANT Impact which owns and operates brands and events such as Catalyst and the Chick-fil-A Leadercast.
Wow, that is a big headline. : )
It takes some guts to write about this. I mean I am just a simple entrepreneur who is trying to lead his family, grow some companies and lead people. What do I know about God?
Well, I know this. God wants you to be responsive to him. That is what he wants. In the same way an obedient child is responsive to a parent, God the Father desires that of each of us. That is the one thing – to be responsive.
The opposite of responsive is resistant. Resistant people are still living out their rebellion. Responsive people are humble enough to be obedient. When you are responsive then you want to be close to God. When you are resistant you are insecure and want nothing to do with him.
I have found that responsive people receive an amazing reward from God – they get Him. They receive intimacy like a good father to a child. Resistant people get the opposite. They don’t get him, but rather receive the fruit of their rebellion. They get themselves and those selves are not fun to be around.
Responsive people no longer blame others.
Responsive people deal with their issues in maturity.
Responsive people are confident enough to obey.
Responsive people are receptive and respond to constructive criticism.
Responsive people want the best for people instead of being consumed with themselves.
